Creating Local Connections West Africa-Nigeria
About this event: TakingITGlobal CLCWA Nigeria National Conference on Building Sustainable Growth in our Communities
Related to country: Nigeria

Realising the great potential of Nigerian youths as development actors in thier community through ICTs is CLCWA Mission in Nigeria.

Nigeria is blessed with great TIG members jerry, Gbenga, Emeka Nwosu, Esther Eshiet, Azubike, Henry to mention but a few, and they are indeed development actors in thier respectful communities joing hands in making the other young ones become actor as well.

Youth development may b e fined as the ongoing growth process in which all youth are engaged in attempting to (1) meet their basic personal and social needs to be safe, feel cared for, be valued, be useful, and be spiritually grounded, and (2) to build skills and competencies that allow them to function and contribute in their daily lives."

young People, programs and institutions involved in youth development are working toward positive results in the lives of youth such as CLCWA . Some have clearly defined these desired positive results—or outcomes—in an attempt to more effectively work toward them. There are many efforts to define the outcomes of youth development, and while language may differ from place to place most express the results that most people want for their own children. These outcomes include but move above and beyond the academic skills and competencies which are the focus of most program.

I therefore emplore other memebers to be more committed to realise this dreams and encourage other to join and Support CLCWA Nigeria

Thank you

From your last sentence, saying 'other members need to be more commited...' i thought it was right to add on that the CLCWA project, in its 5 countries of activity, will only attain its high goals and expectations if it gets the required intense and complete collaboration from local, national, regional and international members and structures. It can seem like a risk factor but, at the same time, its more of what makes this project so special, different and promising. This is NOT an isolated project where one core team runs various activities and thats it, its NOT a project with a beginning and an end: We are building upon initiatives that already exist, with the right local people, to leverage other existing initiative. We are not starting anything from scratch. Only, now, teams are implementing the project, but within 12 months, theses teams and all others that participate along the way can be proud of themselves when other structures are running CLCWA activities under their own means and resources.
